I don’t think those are robber bees trying to get in. Robbers will fly in a left to right swinging pattern looking for a place to swoop in. You can actually make a robber screen that is inches in front of your entrance3, as robbers won’t land and walk in.
You are probably right. This was a post from my first Summer as a beekeeper. Now that I have had real robbing, I doubt this is an example of it – there should be a bunch more bees on the outside of the cloth.
