Walk-away Split: From Michael Bush, this is going to some strong hives (you can take bits and pieces from different hives) and pulling two frames of emerging brood, a frame of eggs, and two frames of food (pollen and honey). Put all of these into a 5-frame Nuc. Shake a frame or two of Nurse bees (don’t get the queen!) into the Nuc, put the top on and check it 4 weeks later for a laying queen.
